Use case: Retro facilitator
Rotate who facilitates your retrospective
Suggested schedule: Fridays at 15:00, at the end of each sprint.
Why rotate it
Retrospectives get better when the facilitator changes. A new facilitator brings a different format and a different set of questions, and nobody has to both run the session and take part in it every time.
Who'll Do picks the facilitator for you and announces it in your team channel ahead of the session, giving them time to prepare. Fair mode guarantees everyone facilitates once before anyone does it again.
Schedules repeat weekly today, so a two-week sprint works best as a weekly schedule on your retro day, with the off weeks paused, or as an instant /wholl-do pick when you plan the sprint. Can't make it? "Can't, pick someone else" hands the session to another teammate, never back to someone who already passed.
Facilitation is a skill. A fair rotation is the simplest way to make sure everyone on the team gets to practise it.
To start, add the app and choose the Retro facilitator template. It opens the schedule form with the task and a Friday afternoon time filled in; set the channel your team plans in and the day your retrospectives happen, then save. Facilitators are announced automatically from then on.
Give new facilitators something to lean on: a shared document with three or four formats they can borrow (start-stop-continue, sailboat, four Ls) and a reminder to send the board link before the session. A little structure makes the rotation work for people who have never facilitated before.
