Questions, answered
How random is it?
Every pick uses a cryptographically secure random source. With fair mode on, everyone in the pool goes once before anyone repeats, so nobody gets picked four weeks running.
What does the bot need access to?
Only what picking needs: channels:read (see who is in a public channel, so we can pick from its members); groups:read (see who is in a private channel the bot was added to, for the same reason); chat:write (post the assignment message, update it when someone presses Done or Can't, and send DMs); commands (provide the /wholl-do and /wholl-do-config slash commands); users:read (skip bots, deactivated accounts and people who are away, and use the scheduler's time zone); usergroups:read (pick from a Slack user group (/wholl-do pick @group)); app_mentions:read (reply with the command list when someone @mentions the bot); im:history (reply with the command list when someone sends the bot a direct message. Messages are not stored). It never reads or stores your channel messages. The full list, with reasons, is on the security page.
What happens when someone is on holiday?
On the Growth and Unlimited plans they're skipped: Who'll Do leaves out anyone whose Slack status says they're on holiday, out of office or off sick, and each schedule can skip named people until a date you choose. Anyone can pass a pick on with "Can't, pick someone else".
What happens after the 90-day trial?
Scheduled picks pause. Your schedules and settings are kept, and they start running again as soon as you choose a plan. Instant picks with /wholl-do keep working.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Manage or cancel your plan from the billing page in your account whenever you like.
